What Else Would Her Characters Do?

M composed this story in summer school Thursday .... I swear she's never played Fortnight once in her 6.75 years, but clearly it occupies space in her brain because of all the teenage boys who take over our living room, controllers in hand, their long legs draped over every piece of furniture, their loud, excited voices sometimes overpowering even the television. These tall, tan, summer boys who always smell like chlorine fresh from the pool and eat way too much ice cream every single day ..... it's funny and sweet to me that little girls in her made up world would ride here in cars and on a horse just to play video games with her brother. ♡
